Psalm 30:5 (ESV)
5 For his anger is but for a moment,
and his favor is for a lifetime . . .
When in verse 5, it says his anger, God’s, is only for a moment, I interpet that as how I feel between myself and someone I am having an argument with. Personally, I am known to get heated and only for a moment, could be just at the time of the disagreement. To me it may seem like a moment, to another adult, it can seem like a tad more than a moment, but to my youngest daughter, that moment seems like a life time to her. So, when in Psalm 30.5 it says a moment, but it’s God’s moment. We don’t know how long or have any idea of how long that moment is, but for sure we know it is shorter than out lifetime!
Psalm 30:8–9 (ESV)
8 To you, O Lord, I cry,
and to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9 “What profit is there in my death,
if I go down to the pit?
I said something like this very similiar when I was spending the night inside an old empty outhouse. I have and continue to work towards being a disciple of Christ, a turn of events left me in this strange situation where I was spending the night there. I kicked the side of the outhouse and asked God, how can I glorify you when I am in here?
Psalm 30:12 (ESV)
12 . . .O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
