Avengers . . . were they/are they?

I went and saw the most recent Avengers movie, I don’t know the subtitle nor the history of the Avengers.  Although I have to admit, I did look it up and watched a YouTube video about the Avengers.

The antagonist in the film, his goal was and is to make the “universe” a better place.  His goal is noble.  There is famine in the universe and he has taken it upon himself to rid the universe of the overpopulation so everyone does not suffer.  He sights an example of where he has done this on other planets and it now is thriving.

He makes a good argument, he is not biased in who he kills, it is all completely random, it’s all fair for everyone, especially those that live.

What is the Avengers quest?  Well, the “bad guy” needs these stones, five in all, which the Avengers 4 of them.  These stones will give him control over the universe in a way where he can execute his plan at will, rather than have to travel to each planet individually and do the deed.

So, I am not sure if the movie is about the Avengers keeping the stones or preventing the antagonist from doing his need, or maybe both.

The goal of the antagonist seemed noble, the argument was logical and plausible.  The challenge of the movie other than the clear goal of the Avengers was the fight which took place.

The final scene reminded me of a movie created for the period of the Romans.  Where you have both sides rushing down a hillside to meet in the valley an engage in hand-to-hand combat until death.   Even though there was “superheroes” all around, the battle still seemed to be rudimentary.

In summary, the plot was not clear, the fight scenes did not seem to reflect the superhero capability.    In short, the action was good, the acting was good, but overall, I would not go see the movie again.

God Bless,

Leland
